I'm crashing and burning down the stretch. Then again, I don't think anyone expected my team to be a contender this year, so It would've been nice if Brandon Webb could have contributed anything this year... and if FraGu wasn't such a worthless bum.
Getting Pierre could be huge for my team the last month and a half. A bump in steals is all I really need considering everyone ahead of me is way ahead of the innings pitched pace.
Also I think Dave Knight deserves some credit for taking over that team from the cellar and being in the thick of things this late in the season, props for that
I'll second that. Dave has done one hell of a job turning that team around. He's hit pretty big on some guys like CarGo, Bautista, Konerko, etc. It goes to show you that keepers don't necessarily mean that much in a league. I thought I had arguably the best set coming into this season, but with injuries and some poor draft picks on my part, it hasn't turned out. With Miggy, Utley, JUpt, Longoria, + whoever, I hope I can put it a better showing for next season.
Yeah, my keepers looked bad, and my drafting this year was fairly ugly as well.
Carlos Lee, Lance Berkman, Javier Vazquez, Jose Lopez, Brett Anderson, Stephen Strasburg, Jesus Montero, Jeff Clement***, Trevor Cahill who I stupidly dumped early, and Chris Carter all were huge overdrafts in retrospect, with the first 6 coming in early rounds.
Luckily, I've survived so far mostly thanks to the Konerko/Uggla/Bautista/CarGo trio and some pitching sleepers like Colby Lewis.
***Yikes, only a blind Pirates fan could make that pick!
