Clemens has gotten 20 twice - Wood has done it once. I think that they're the only ones.

I threw 22 K's in World Series Baseball for Sega, with Kent Bottenfield. But real life, Clemens and Wood.

Randy Johnson did it, but the game was tied and the game went into Extra innings, so he doesn't get the credit :,-(

I thought initially they didn't give him the credit, but a while after they did award him credit because he did it in nine innings?

If you count extra-innings games, Tom Cheney of the Washington Senators struck out 21 in a 16 inning game in '62

Pedro hasn't had 18 but Ramon has? Damn, that's gotta motivate the Zimmer-killer to pitch a little deeper into games, if nothing else.

From that article about RJ:

"the Elias Sports Bureau counts the strikeouts towards the extra-inning game record instead. It doesn't make sense. Of course, a lot of things in baseball don't make sense, like the many unenforced rules, and Youppi"

Good old Youppi

;-D
