I recently had similar spots in my draft (#11 and #14). I was lucky enough to nab Longoria and Kinsler. Ian Kinsler is a Roto beast, especially at the 2nd base position and Longoria should make more strides and could his 40 HRs and 120 RBIs in the heart of a stacked lineup. He could chip in 10 SBs if lucky but his Avg n power #s should definitely be there, plus when u consider that 3rd base is shallow and the 2nd/3rd tiers are weak IMHO, hes a very solid 1st rd pick.

I don't like Kinsler in early 2nd round...low BA last year and always misses games....I like Roberts/Zobrist in rounds 5-6th much better. Either Howard or Cabrera should slide to you at 10. If Longoria or Wright are available at 15, grab them. If not, take Tulo.
I agree with the others. If you've got a late-round pick this year, your 1st round pick will probably be one of the elite 1B still remaining. If you're going to target a 1B, however, I don't like grabbing an OF. You spend your first two picks without getting an elite 2B/SS/3B, and those positions are scarce enough that I'd feel more comfortable grabbing an elite on the turn. Kinsler/Tulo/Longoria/Wright, all good options on the turn.
I don't think I'd be going for Longoria or Wright or Kinsler in that situation considering there's a very good possibility in round 3 I can get Zimmerman, Sandoval, Youk, or Reynolds, and in the 4th round you should be able to get one of the tier two 2bs.
I'd be pretty happy to build my team around Cabrera (my least favorite of the 4 other 1bs that might be there, so just a guess as to most likely to still be available) and Holliday. I might be tempted to go with Tulo or even Jose Reyes in that 15 spot due to shallowness of SS but I wouldn't feel as comfortable.
I'd be pretty happy to start a team with something like Cabrera, Holliday, Reynolds, and say Brandon Phillips.
I agree on taking one of the 1B there as you don't have much else to choose from besides maybe Longoria. I'd like Tulo/Wright (if Longoria wasn't taken)/Holliday.
I don't like taking Holliday early 2nd round, but the more I look at this numbers the less I can justify not taking him. The only concern is if he suddenly stops running altogether (4 or less SBs) and turns into an Adam Lind/Ethier type.
...Boston papers now and then suffer a sharp flurry of arithmetic on this score; indeed, for Williams to have distributed all his hits so they did nobody else any good would constitute a feat of placement unparalleled in the annals of selfishness. -Updike
