Trying to snag Teixiera...am I giving up too much?

Postby saur kraut & footbal » Mon Feb 22, 2010 8:22 pm

My Roster:

C: Doumit
1B: Cuddyer
2B: Zobrist
3B: A.Rod
SS: Reyes
OF: B.J. Upton
OF: S. Choo
OF: A. Ethier
UTIL: M. Young
UTIL: Asdrubal Cabrera
B: D. Ortiz
B: Everth Cabrera
B: N. Reimold

SP: Sabathia
SP: U. Jimenez
RP: Fuentes
RP: Capps
RP: Lidge
P: Lindstrom
P: Danks
P: Buerhle
B: R. Wells
B: Dice K

I'd really like to add Tex to this lineup, and I've been doing an offer/counter offer dance with this guy. My latest offer is looking like CC, Asbrubal Cabrera and Fuentes for Tex. Is that giving up too much? My trading partners is looking for a 2B and RP.

This tough, definitely. I agree your lineup needs one more big bat, but I don't know if you have the pitching to give up C.C. But the value in the trade is good for you. What are the settings?

All I can say is if you are high on the rest of your pitching and high on Teixeira, get him. I just like what Sabathia brings to the table. He is a workhorse.

I don't think you can afford to trade Sabathia. I would offer him Ethier, Young (overrated) and closer for Teix. Then you can plug Teix into your Util slot and replace Ethier with Reimold.

Can you help with mine plz - viewtopic.php?t=401231

I would personally have no problem with Jimenez as my ace, but the drop in pitching talent after that is just to big a gap. I have to agree with avcovelite. You are aiming to high with Teix, you will be crippling your team by paying the price for him. Aim lower. Billy Butler, Adam Dunn, Carlos Pena... someone like that.

Look, I like Reyes. But are you really going to count on his hammies? Look, I don't believe in Reimold that much. But he is a powerful if not special cat.

Aim lower with less like Ten said (maybe Youk or Sandoval even). Bench As-Dribble. Start Reimold. As-Dribble's only superfluous if Reyes is healthy and Everth both starts and does more than Bourn v. 2008.
