Have to trade AROD, whir

Postby rolen187 » Mon Feb 22, 2010 6:30 pm

My league has 5 keepers, long story short, i ended up trading for mig cabrera and now i have arod and miggy.

I need to trade one, and based on age i decided that keeping miggy would be the best decision...

1)do you agree? or do you think i should shop miggy instead?

2)i was offered howard straight up for arod (howard would count as my 7th round pick as he was drafted several years ago in that round) AND i was offered matt holliday plus an 8th round pick.....(holliday was drafted in the 2nd round fyi, so that would replace my 2nd round pick)....im leaning towards taking howard, as of now my keepers are

1)arod (1)
2)mcab(1)
3)kinsler(11)
4)cliff lee(21)
5)jbay(5)

Howard at 7th round value is pretty sweet. Assuming you can fit 2 1B in. See if you can't get a bit more from the Howard owner (afterall, 3B is pretty thin). Maybe a pick or a swap of picks as well.

Wow, can't have two first rounds? That is lame. But, I would take the Howard deal in a heartbeat. Would that mean going into next year you would have him at 7th too? That would leave you with a 2nd round pick to get the good players available. Who knows? A-Rod could fall to you. Owners either love him or won't touch him.

But do the Howard deal. A 2nd rounder for a 7th round=awesome.

I would also do it in a heatbeat, since you can't keep him, getting Howard in the 7th is great value.

I thought you were crazy until I saw you can't keep 2 first rounders.

I agree with the others, the best deal you've got here is Howard as a 7th round keeper

It's not clear cut Miggy over A-Rod, but A-Rod is 57, give or take.

And you're not beating the Howard offer no matter what you're offering.

Why work hard when this is staring right at ya?

Try to squeeze a little more than Howard for A-Rod, but not too hard. Take it if the other owner was ready to walk away.
