Hey guys, our fantasy draft is starting and I wanted to get some input as to where I should start off. Not sure what my problem areas are so if any of you could help me out that would be great! I have 9 keepers (forgoing my first round pick). Here is the league info:
A. 5x5 H2H: R/HR/RBI/SB/AVG & W/SV/K/ERA/WHIP B. Daily Rosters C. Rosters: 28 - 12 Hitters, 10 Pitchers & 6 Bench Spots D. Hitting: C, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, CI, MI, LF, CF, RF, OF, DH, DL(3) E. Pitching: 5 SP, 5 RP -Must fit current role, even if dual eligible F. Min IP Requirement: 45 IP G. Max moves per week: 5 H. Waivers: 3 Days
Grab a good MIF first, either 2B or SS. They're not very deep positions and you'll need at least one consistent bat there. If there are any stud 1B, consider that an option too. Make sure to grab a couple of closers too, considering your pen is empty.
I would go Yunel because like the last poster said you have 3 solid pitchers, fill your ss need
c-olivo 1b-d lee/smoak 2b-mcgahee 3b-zimmerman ss-Rollins/theriot OF-upton, choo, mccutchen, damon, (sizemore on DL) RP villanueva papelbon feliz SP gallardo, dempster matusz maholm bailey e jackson (brett anderson and webb on DL)
Based on what you've said, I'd agree with going with Yunel right now too. Definitely over Oswalt. Not sure how much better he'll be than last year but he's a solid SS to have this year after the elite ones are gone, and probably has more upside than the others that're still available. Hard to say for sure without knowing what other bats are available, but if you're trying to fill your needs rather than going with best available he sounds like a good choice.
