Long time lurker here, decided it was time to jump in to the game! Thanks for reading...
I'm in your standard Yahoo, H2H, 12 team, 5X5 league... we are allowed five keepers each year. I'm been pretty set on who my five are since the end of last season but I'm starting to second guess myself a bit. I'll jumble up the candidates in hopes not to tip my own thoughts off right off the bat! Any input is much appreciated
Albert Pujols Carl Crawford Jason Bay Gordon Beckham Victor Martinez Andrew McCutchen Clayton Kershaw Joey Votto
I think those 4 are givens. For the 5th I'd personally keep Beckam, since he will soon gain 2b eligibility. You could make an argument for Bay though, but I prefer Beckham.

tough between Votto or Crawford - I just think you can find Crawford numbers later in the draft. If Votto hits 300 with 35hrs, you can keep him at UTL or use him as monster trade bait.

1. Not sure wo any one can endorse keeping Beckham over McCuthen. When you facotr in Beckham's soon to be MI eligibility and the lack of depth at 2b it's really not close.
2. And someone actually suggested not keeping Crawford? Wow. I wish that person was playing in my fantasy league.
You're best bets are the players I mentioned. You'll be able to draft comparable players to the one's your dropping later in the draft, maybe with the exception of Bay.
I will probably be very much a minority on this one but:
Albert Pujols-no brainer number 1 Carl Crawford Jason Bay Gordon Beckham-number 2 Victor Martinez Andrew McCutchen Clayton Kershaw-number 4 Joey Votto-number 3
I always like to keep one solid pitcher if you have one-I had Crawford last year for 4 straight years and have become disappointed with him-his power numbers have gone down the past two years, and Bay just moved to a pitcher paradise-for the money and short term I would keep Vict Martinez as a catcher. I think McCutchen is a solid player however I still like keeping the pitcher.
