Keeper Question Pick 6 *WHIP*

Postby Bferryvt » Fri Feb 19, 2010 12:33 pm

Got a tough spot here, need to pick six and can't decide on the last one or two....12 team 6x6 head to head league

Teixeira
Longoria
Howard
McCann
Bay
Halladay
Sabathia
Lester
Cain

It pains me to consider dropping Lester...but can I really keep him over McCann? 3 bats 3 SP's, or 4 bats and 2SP's?

Are there any restrictions as to how many batters and pitchers you can hold, I ask because some leagues only allow you to keep 2 of each and then 1 or 2 wilds.

I'm assuming you use the normal stat categories, what are the additional two? I'm guessing OBP and K/9 or Holds?

6 I would go with is...

Mark Teixeira
Evan Longoria
Ryan Howard
Roy Halladay
CC Sabathia
Jon Lester

I rarely keep my catcher, Mauer is really the only one worth it. You can get a guy like Molina or Napoli who have 20 HR potential like McCann late or hope to get Soto and Doumit and that they rebound. It isn't a strong position after Mauer, VMart, Wieters and McCann are gone so I wouldn't put too much emphasis on the position when all the catchers can get similar production.

Your offense is stacked so you can afford to let McCann go, hell you could redraft him if you want.

We do Hits RBI Runs HRs SB's and Avg./QS W's K's ERA WHIP and Saves(just replacing IP with Quality Starts this year). No restrictions and 3 and 3 would set me up nicely for a balanced draft...just hard to drop a consistant bat at C like McCann

First support I've gotten on Lester over McCann, maybe I'm NOT crazy...

My thoughts exactly. You won't have to even look at another pitcher for a while and can fill your position players. Personally, I would try to trade Howard for a strong 2B/SS option.

That's the exact plan, him and an OF for a MI and a better OF, I got him last year at the end of the season, for ICHIRO straight up from a desperate man
