H2H points league...SB value?

Should SBs be 2 or 1? and why? I am trying to explain to our commish why it should have never been switched to 1 pt 2 seasons ago. Help.

point league settings are all subjective. Commish and presumably the owners two seasons ago didn't value SB so it was dropped down I guess.

That said, I think it's silly to devalue the SB that much and make power hitters that much stronger. My two leagues are at 2 and 2.5.

Interesting enough, I had the same problem with what should be the most reasonable stolen base value as well. Getting on-base is the cardinal virtue of baseball to its core, but SB is a indicator of alot of things. Of course, I based my SB points on a different system on my own league, but it was devalued... It would be better to match SB value along the line of a hit.

if your using negative -1 pt for caught stealing..then a SB should be 2 pts...if your not penalizing players for a caught stealing then a SB should only be 1...but like a previous post mentioned is really up to the person creating the league and what the other stat cats are...you want a decent balance between hitters and pitchers...I have played both straight up fantasy pts and h2h pts and this is what I have used in the past Batters Stat Category Value

We try to mimick what's actually emphasized in MLB right now.

Steals are a thing of the past, and we score them accordingly. 1 pt for a stolen base and -1 for CS.
