Help with keeper trade WHIR

Postby bois13 » Thu Feb 18, 2010 1:58 am

I play in a 12 team roto 5x5 keeper league and have been offered the following deal. I currently hold the first pick in the draft and plan on taking Pujols but have a logjam at 1B. The way the keepers work is on a contract system. In Teixeira's case his contract is up at the end of the season and Cruz's is up at the end of the 2012 season. I'm looking to move Teixeira because if i draft Pujols I will have 4 players for 3 slots. New contracts are given out each season after the draft so by drafting Pujols, I will have him through the 2013 season and whoever i draft 2nd i would have through the 2012 season.

Trade
My Mark Teixeira and Nelson Cruz for his 2nd overall pick

League Roster Spots
C,1B,2B,3B,SS,MI,CI,OF,OF,OF,OF,UTIL,SP,SP,SP,RP,RP,RP,P

Keepers (year contract expires)
Teixeira (2010)
Fielder (2010)
Uggla (2010)
Hamilton (2010)
Rios (2010)
D. Ortiz (2010)
Jurrjens (2010)
Harang (2011)
Billingsley (2011)
JJ Hardy (2011)
N. Cruz (2012)

I'm not sure what i should do with this trade. I feel like the 2nd pick would greatly improve my team as the next top players available are Arod, Longoria, Greinke, Felix, Wright, and Crawford. But i'm not sure giving up Tex and Cruz will be worth it. Let me know what you think and leave a link and i'll help you out too.

Teixeira and Cruz for one of those third basemen? I'd definitely do it.

Believe it or not, I like Wright because I anticipate a power comeback and then he would also lead A-Rod and Longo in SB and AVG. But Longoria is the safer pick.

I think it definitely comes down to Arod or Longoria also. As to who I would pick?!?! That is the question. I think I would go Arod although either way, you are getting a stud!

A little help please: viewtopic.php?t=400934

I would do that trade and go with Longoria with pick 2.
