So ..I'm planning on starting up a 16-team, H2H keeper league on Yahoo.
This will be my first time running a league and I'm trying to come up with settings that value quality SP over quantity of SP.
I'd like to have deep rosters (26 or 27 players), while at the same time, limiting the viability of streaming pitchers from the bench. Some feedback on my initial ideas would be really helpful and I'd appreciate any other ideas you might have.
These are the 8 pitching categories I'd like to use:
W, K, K/BB, SV, Holds, ERA, WHIP, QS
As far as rosters go, I think I will set a maximum of 2 or 3 adds/week. This will limit streaming SP from the waiver wire.
To limit streaming from the bench I've thought about setting up the roster positions as such:
SP, SP, SP, SP, RP, RP, RP, RP, RP, RP
(4) SP slots + (6) RP slots There will then be (7 or 8) bench slots for batters/pitchers.
My thinking is that increasing the standard RP slots will keep managers from punting saves or holds (ideally you'd want to start 3 closers and 3 middle relievers). I'll also set the Minimum IP/week at 40 to discourage the opposite.
I am probably overlooking some things, or maybe i'm doing it all wrong. Opinions?
