interesting offer

Postby JohnnyRebJays » Wed Feb 17, 2010 7:59 pm

I'm in a 17 team - 25 roster (15b 10 p) auction keeper
$300 cap standard 5 X 5 scoring roto

I've been offered Nelson Cruz $1 and Clay Buchholz $1 for Carl Crawford $45

I have a few reasonably priced b keeps such as D Lee and Cano $28, Shane Vict. $33 and Carlos Lee $44 but I'm hurting on sp keepers

this one intrigues me for the potential of each plus the huge savings.
Should I pull the trigger, no, or wait to see what happens to Clay?
Thanks for any help

Is there likely to be anyone in the draft worth spending the money on that you save? I have a feeling that most guys are going to be kept which makes me think you should keep Crawford. Cruz and Buchholz are nice but not sure they are worth giving up a first round pick for.

As a previous poster said, how many keepers do you get? What does the player pool look like? I love Cruz at $1, so if you can reinvest that money gained from giving up Crawford into another top talent, then take the offer.

Seems like you have a lot of high priced keepers, so I'd lean towards saving huge bucks and taking the deal... Are the players you listed your only keepers? If so, I'd probably look to rebuild with young inexpensive talent in exchange for your high priced guys.... given your pitching situation and current keeper list it doesn't seem likely that you'll be able to compete this year. I'd unload older guys like Carlos Lee and Derik Lee and see what you can get in return. IF I had your roster I'd personally overhaul, take risks with younger cheaper upside players and try to compete in 2011.
