id get young. 14 team, 9x9 (ops, 2b,3b, TB, L, HLD, BB, CG are the extra cats). we declare 7 keepers. i always prefer hitting over pitching, but a fall back to 10ish homers a year for young scares me, who's going to be 34. still, id rather be quick to the wire on pitching, since there are always pitchers to come out of nowhere. 3b will also be thin in our draft...the best available players could possibly be chone figgins, chipper jones, (theyll probably be kept, and i personally dont like figgy at 3b anyway) chris davis, ian stewart, and adrian beltre. im not expecting youngs monster stats from last year, but maybe .295-20-85-.810ops, maybe 10 swipes? this doesnt look as good when i type it out ha. am i crazy for actually being close to pulling the trigger on michael young for ubaldo? im keeping so far :rollins, morneau, carlos gonzalez, granderson, j upton, b upton, and ubaldo.
No way! Jorge Cantu should put up very similar numbers to Mike Young at third IMO. U-Jim just keeps getting better, he is well on his way to ace status and not worthy of a 33 year old 3rd baseman.

thanks for bringing me off the ledge. i always end up with cantu on my teams, funny you mentioned him. Im also on the ian stewart bandwagon, and im fairly sure he'll be there for me, and also give me 2b/3b flexability.
If you find yourself really desperate for a 3rd baseman, The Jays are most likely going to sign Russ Branyan. I have my eye on Brett Wallace but the Branyan thing makes me wonder. If you have extra bench space, pick them both up. The Jays have been discussing letting Wallace play 1st and DH as well so they seem committed to getting him in the lineup. He makes great contact and should develop more power.
thanks for the extra info. im actually liking edwin encarnacion for the jays, even though it looks like they dont think hes their long term awnser. he looked great at the end of the year, but hes shown flashes before... we have a pretty extensive minor league roster, so wallace and the majority of top minor leagues are already "owned". i have alvarez and gamel who could be up later in the year. i did lose track of branyan though, ill keep up on his situation, hopefully he can find an everyday gig. thanks again!
OK, if Wallace is out... and this is a loooooong shot BTW, keep an eye on Jake Fox. The A's are going to put him at first this season so he'll probably lose 3rd base eligibility in 2011, but he showed a little something last season and might surprise. He has good power, but the dude needs to calm down, he swings at everything. Maturity at the plate will come in time.
thanks man, big a's fan here so im definantly keeping my eye on fox. that dude had a monster year in the minors last year! i really hope he can get ab's and someone like crisp doesnt play very often. from a fan standpoint, not fantasy ha.
