Need Help With an NL Only Trade Offer

Postby wackadoodle » Mon Feb 15, 2010 1:49 pm

NL only, 12 teams, standard 5x5, inflation runs around 35%. I have some well priced keepers and extras to spare. I'm looking for a bat since I am really lacking on the power categories. I'm interested in his $35 Ethier who is good at that price for this year and next. I have these guys to make an offer with. Thoughts, advice?

RUIZ, $2/2YEARS
LONEY $5/OPT YR
I.STEWART $5/2YEARS
FREESE $2/2YEARS
S.SMITH $3/2YEARS
You're so ugly that if you were a dog I'd shave your butt and teach you to walk backwards!

If I had Ethier I don't believe any and all combos from that list would make me trade him.

I agree with this generally. Maybe you could throw out something like Loney+Stewart and get a nibble if he's in a tough spot, but I think it's unlikely you'll get Ethier without giving up something of more value.

Is this guy rebuilding? That's the only reason he would make a trade and then it would only be for players with 2 year contracts. Stewart and Freese are good keepers at that price for next year. Do you have a minor league draft that you could add draft picks into the deal. Ruiz at 2$ for 2 years is also attractive in NL only, even more so if you 2 C spots. If I was rebuilding for next year. I'd be interested in Ruiz, Stewart, and Freese at those price with a 2 year contract as keepers for 2011.
