My guess is the first 11 are: Albert Pujols Hanley Ramirez Alex Rodriguez Chase Utley Ryan Braun Matt Kemp Prince Fielder Mark Teixeira Ryan Howard Miguel Cabrera Evan Longoria
Yes, those are the 11 guys. Then you have a pitcher (ick), a third baseman who hit 10 home runs, a second baseman who misses 25 games a year, and a shortstop/outfielder who tanked in the first half. and a catcher (again, ick).
Those 11 are clearly better and worthy of building a team around.
But all it takes is one person picking 4-11 to grab Mauer or Lincecum to make the 12 spot just fine by taking Longoria. If you get 2 teams willing to take Mauer and Lince, then you have both Longoria and whichever 1B isn't drafted. Not a bad way to start.
12th since i know im not going to pick 1 or 2 in any real draft, might as well stick to last. Also pick from 7-9 spots since thats where I usually end up in real drafts I just rarely seem to get top 5 so why bother lol.

Why hope that someone screws up?
I also don't think the guys there at 12 are any better than those available at like 16-17.

I don't hope someone would screw up, it would just happen more often than not. If the big 3 were gone, then I would just take Tulo, SS is very shallow and he put up awesome numbers 2 out of the last 3 years.

And hoping is all you can do.It's not as though you can switch draft spots unless your league allows trading of slots.
I like the middle. It gives you time to think, and observe how the round and draft is going. I hate the ends. You get back to back picks, they better be real good.

I take it in a 10 team league, this would mean the best pick to have is the 10th?
