Joey Votto and Ryan Zimmerman

Postby Skimo77 » Mon Feb 15, 2010 2:02 am

I'm in a 6 team keeper, and my keepers are Hanley, Braun, Kemp, Zimmerman, Verlander, Lester and/or Cliff lee... what do you think of the deal i'm offered of me giving up Zimmerman for Votto? I'm on the fence..

I'd hold on to Zimmerman. First base is loaded and third base is a little down this year.

I actually like Votto here. Zimm's power will decrease, while I trust Votto's bat as a top-tier 1B much more even with the position difference.

This is tough. I think Votto will have the better year and be more valuable he plays at a deep position where as Zimmerman plays at a very shallow one. I think I would go with Votto and hope to find a 3B later.

If your league uses OBP instead of AVG, go with Votto. Otherwise, its a close call but I'd probably stay with Zim in that case.

Close, but I'd go with Zimmerman at the thinner position. I don't see his power regressing per se, as he does have potential to crack 30 HR and I'm expecting more or less the same output as last season. He wasn't fully healthy in '08 and on a full bill of health, his FB rate increased.

3B is not as strong as first base. Stay with Zimmerman. I don't think either Votto or Zim will live up to their expectations, but all things being equal, 3b productivity is at a greater need than 1b.

Hey thanks guys.. yea i'm still leaning on keeping Zimmerman, it's a tough call.. it's just my league is really deep and i dont have a solid 1Bmen. If i didnt get Votto i might get stuck having to draft a Loney or something.. but straight up i can't do it.. we'll see.
