keeper help...

7 Keepers, 9x9 (TB, 2b, 3B, OPS, L, CG, HLD, and BB are the extras) 14 team h2h league. we keep 7, and I have these 8:

Morneau
Rollins
B. Upton
J. Upton
Granderson
Carlos Gonzalez
U. Jimenez
Kershaw

I traded my 2nd round pick in a package for Rollins also. I keep going back and forth on what to do. One day I'm keeping Gonzalez, and dealing Kershaw for picks. I'm desperatly trying to replace that 2nd rounder, and get one or two minor league guys thrown in, which is dirt cheap for kershaw imo. Maybe things pick up once everyone gets settled in, our league has only been up a few days. I'm also considering keeping Kershaw, and letting Gonzalez go into the draft. I have the 2nd overall pick, and Gonzalez could possibly be there to take. I've semi-mapped out every teams potential keepers, and so far the options dont look pretty with that pick, he'd be a no. 1 overall candidate. I'm worried that Gonzalez will get snatched up, and I'll be left reaching for a 2nd, or 3rd baseman and without another pick until round 3.
I'm mostly leaning toward dealing Kershaw because my minor league roster includes Matt Weiters, Derek Holland, and Rick Porcello, who are essentially "free" keepers of mine for one more year. Due to the pitching, I'm more inclined to deal Kershaw. He also can get me the most in return, and Im a believer in hitting>pitching. Plus it would be nice to have 5 power/speed threats on my team, although Gonzo is more of a 20/15ish guy. I also have Gamel and P. Alvarez who could be up later in the year. Just thought it'd be nice to ask for some opinions, I follow the forums sometimes and finally decided to post, thanks.

I think you said it best. I would try to trade Kershaw and get your pick and minor leaguers in return for him, while keeping Carlos Gonzalez. However, if you don't get any good offers on Kershaw, I would drop Gonzalez, especially with the likes of the Uptons and Granderson already on your team.
