5th year keeper question. WHIR

Postby The Jesus » Sat Feb 13, 2010 9:54 pm

I'm a member of a keeper league in it's 5th year. It's a H2H custom points based. Scoring is as follows:

Hitting:

Home Runs (HR) 4
Total Bases (TB) 1
Walks (BB) 1
Runs Scored (R) 2
Runs Batted In (RBI) 2
Stolen Bases (SB) 3
Strikeouts (K) -1
Caught Stealing (CS) -1
Hitting for the Cycle (CYC) 30
Grand Slam Home Runs (GSHR) 15

Pitching:

Innings Pitched (IP) 3
Earned Runs (ER) -2
Wins (W) 10
Losses (L) -5
Saves (SV) 7
Blown Saves (BS) -5
Strikeouts (K) 2
Hits Allowed (H) -1
Shutouts (SO) 10
Holds (HD) 2
Complete Games (CG) 5
No Hitters (NH) 40
Perfect Games (PG) 80

I can keep only seven of the following players and I've put in bold my definites and the italics are those I just cant decide on:

C - Brian McCann
1B - Miguel Cabrera
2B - Chase Utley
3B - Gordon Beckham
SS - Jimmy Rollins
OF - Grady Sizemore
OF - Carl Crawford
OF - Matt Kemp
Util - Curtis Granderson
Util - Ben Zobrist
B - Jason Heyward
B - Matt LaPorta
B - Colby Rasmus
B - Alberto Callaspo

SP - Tim Lincecum
SP - Josh Beckett
SP - Erik Bedard DL
SP - Madison Bumgarner
SP - Wade Davis
SP - Brian Matusz
RP - Joe Nathan
RP - David Aardsma

I appreciate any help I can get. Over time, I've been able to amass quite a lineup...but my pitching fell through the cracks last year, a lot. That and I relied too much on youth there and the vets I had hit the DL. What are your thoughts on players like Sizemore and Rollins coming off injuries and questionable seasons?

I would take Sizemore and Rollins. Sizemore is an easy choice. Rollins plays at a shallow position and is still pretty good value with 7 keepers.
