What is a good number for roster spots?

While I have not yet converted the Fantasy Baseball world, the number of players per team should be an EVEN number. Since just about everybody uses a serpentine draft it lets the team with the last first round pick have the first pick in the last round.

In subsequent years the same fairness should apply if rounds are added.

This year I had drafts of 22 players in a 12 team league, and 25 players in both a 14 and 16 team league.

The last two had Hold categories so it opened up a couple dozen middle relievers, but the 16 team league left the waiver wire bare.

no one in the league is asking me change it from 25.

this is my first time as commissoner.

so I am debating against myself.

if its going to be more fun then I will leave it at 25.

we did a 22 round draft (Offline) and am letting pick up the remaining 3.

It's good to have some decent players on the waiver wire at any given moment ... and don't forget that by the end a few teams will be "dead"; the smaller the rosters, the fewer players will be frozen out of circulation.

If 25 is good enough for MLB, it should be good enough for your league, don't you think? And if it's 25, team roster construction will have some relation to real baseball (i.e. utility infielder, 11 pitchers vs 12), which is a Good Thing.

We use only 22 spots in our private money league so that even more cash is generated ( $1 ) a move. More spots will encourage trading .
