NL-only auction league, saber scoring

Postby arneolson » Sat Feb 13, 2010 3:43 am

The MIke Morgan Redraft League is recruiting owners for its 5th season at Mendoza Baseball. The Morgan League is a 10-12 team, single-year, NL-only league scored using the "Mendoza" format. Mendoza uses a sabemetric style of scoring with Extrapolated Runs for offense (a linear weights version of Runs Created) and runs allowed for pitching. Runs scored and runs allowed are combined into a W-L record using Bill James' Pythagorean theorem. It's a cool concept, pretty easy to figure out but more interesting than standard roto style scoring. Players are auctioned during four e-Bay style auctions that take place during the first week of April. The core of 6-7 owners is active and a lot of fun, but we need several owners to join us. Check out the game at http://www.mendozabaseball.com and email me at arneolson@yahoo.com if interested.

Sounds pretty complicated to me. What ever happened to straight Roto?

I don't understand posts like this. If you can't grasp the concept of a league, why post at all??? Simply go find a Roto league that you would prefer...there are plenty of them.

Pointless.

It's not really any harder than straight roto, but it's way more fun. What's not to like?

Still need a few more owners for this league. Try something new, you will like it!
