Pitchers limits

I have a 10 team Head to Head league, there is some talk about limiting the number of starts the pitcher can have per week. Some feel while one team has 9 starts in a week while the team they are against has 13 starts that doesn't seem fair. Looking for input please.

Pitching limits are the best way to stop streamers. My league currently has the number set at 11. I don't really understand your question though, are you asking what number you should pick?

No I'm not asking for a number, I'm wondering why you use pitcher limits rather than setting your point values to discourage this.

Adjusting points is a trickey thing to do. Innings per week is simple and cures the problem of Streaming.

Because some people would be willing to take the penalty of the added categorie(s) in order to still stream pitchers and win other categories. If you just say, "you can only pitch so many innings in a week," then that eliminates streaming altogether. Unless you want to add point categories to make more categories, limiting innings or starts is the way to go.

What site are you guys using to do this? I don't see Yahoo as having a max innings pitched option. Also, with the site your using, can you pick the draft order or does it have to be random?

We use ESPN, This is our second year and I'm not that experienced, I think we can set the draft order we have not set up our league for this year yet

The site is ESPN.com. And yes you can pick the draft order with its service.

Increase the value of closers so that stacking starts is not advantageous over starting pitchers. this is part of why I don't like points leagues.
