I'm in a deep 20 team 25 keeper head to head dynasty league and having trouble deciding who to keep in my last few slots.
My OF looks pretty weak at this point, so I'm planning on maybe keeping a few extras just in case someone doesn't work out.
My 3 definite keepers and starters at the moment are Nelson Cruz, Matt LaPorta, and Michael Brantley. None of the 3 are really sure things. Obviously there's no guarantee that LaPorta and Brantley will succeed or that Cruz will continue the pace he had last year.
Now, I have 3 more keeper slots left and basically 4 OF's to choose from:
Mike Cameron - should be rather safe for playing time and production in the short-term. Will have a pretty good idea of what to expect from him, but no upside.
Ben Francisco - won't have a full-time job to start the year, but Ibanez isn't getting any younger and he could be pretty productive in that lineup and in that field. Also was on pace for 20-20 before the trade.
Nate Schierholtz - will be turning 26 and might get his chance at an every day job this spring. But he hasn't shown a ton and there might not be a ton of run/rbi opportunities on that team.
Conor Jackson - has been very productive when healthy. I do worry about whether he gets the playing time and I could be paranoid, but I was always a little suspicious that maybe it was something other than Valley Fever that he was dealing with.
I also have a few pitchers I could put one of the spots towards with low upside veterans Jeremy Guthrie and Freddy Garcia as well as Bryan Augenstein who should have an opportunity to win the 5th starter spot in Arizona this spring. But my pitching is very solid so it's not a real concern of mine.
So what would you do with those last 3 keeper spots?
