Big Trade, Please Help..WHIR

Postby khey05 » Fri Feb 12, 2010 5:28 pm

I get: Ryan Howard and Matt Wieters
I give: Mark Teixeira and Pablo Sandoval

Should I do this deal, decline it or look to get an additional player?

Salary Cap Keeper League - 12 teams - H2H - 6 x 6 standard league - standard baseball lineup with one Utility

Draft is done by bidding and that will not take place until later this month. (V-Mart is the only elite C available but it will cost significant amount of salary cap to win his services)

Here are the hitters I have signed heading into the season before the bidding process:
Pablo Sandoval
Matt Kemp
Mark Teixeira
Chase Utley
A-Rod
Nelson Cruz

Thanks for your help in advance.

No. Howard is trending downward, Tex isn't.

i agree with hootie, dont do that deal. i know teix is a monster in R/HR/RBI, but i just dont trust his avg and he is prone to major slumps due to the high amount of K's. i like teix/sandy a lot better. maybe try sandoval for wieters straight up if your in need of a C, if the other guy wants it.

help with mine?

Agreed. I would also try and get Wieters if you can for Pablo or something but keep Tex.

So Sandoval for Wieters straight up sounds like a good deal?

In my opinion you are better off with Texeira and Sandoval.

I see you mentioned "bidding process" does that mean their are salaries as well? If so I don't think it changes the fact that you should keep Tex but it would make a difference in the Pablo vs Wieters deal.

As for that deal, I think I would go after Wieters. He should be better in the long run and he has a good chance to be as good as Pablo this year. So depending on salaries, I would offer up the deal.

Yea, salaries are involved...Wieters and Sandoval have the same "minor league" salary for the next three years.

I would keep what you have in this instance. Dont do that trade unless you can get a third player thrown in.
