These are your best five:

Fielder
Howard
Wright
Kinsler
Holliday

I'd use Sabathia, V-Mart, and one of Fielder or Howard as possible trade bait to consolidate one or two of your keepers.

Why keep Roberts or Lee?

If he trades away Holliday, Howard and V-Mart, he would have to keep five players, meaning that Roberts or Lee would be his fifth keeper.

Why would you want to trade away studs, and then keep much lesser talent in those though? I understood gaining picks, but i would never move Howard/Holliday for picks, to get stuck with Roberts/Lee.

I thought that Roberts and Lee were worth more than a 9th and 10th round pick. But there's nothing wrong with keeping Holliday.

Our keepers are due in a couple of weeks and I have some big decisions to make. I finished 2nd last year but depleted my draft in the mean time. I need to replenish it. It is a 10 team 5X5 Roto league where we can keep 5. There are only 2 people looking to acquire keepers for picks.

My options:
Fielder ;-D
Howard ;-D
Wright ;-D
Kinsler ;-D
Holliday ;-D
Victor Martinez
Carlos Lee
Brian Roberts
Sabathia
Beckett
Hamels
K-Rod
Hamels

I am thinking of keeping Fielder, Wright, Kinsler, Victor M., and Sabathia.

I think that I can get the best value out of Howard in a trade. (an owner appears to be desperate for him and already offered a 1st and an 8th. Another owner is interested in acquiring to players for two good picks. (i.e. Carlos Lee and Brian Roberts for a 4th and 5th). I would be able to move Holliday for a solid pick as well.

Am I crazy for not just keeping my best 5 hitters and selling off the rest? I want to keep Victor because I feel like he wont fetch me as much on the open market and it would be nice to have an elite catcher because the production drops off of the table after the top 3. Then, I also want to have an an Ace going into the draft.

Should I keep Fielder, Wright, Kinsler, Victor M., and Sabathia and deal off the rest or go with my top hitters: Wright, Fielder, Howard, Kinsler, Holliday and trade the rest although I will get less compensation? Or do something else? Thanks a lot guys, leave a link and I'll help you out!

I would keep Howard unless you can definitely get a first round and like a 3rd round for him. he is a stud and one of the few guys who can hit 50 bombs. I wouldn't worry about keeping VMart unless you can get good value for Howard.

please help and if you do make sure you read my last post...thanks

I agree, I would keep your best hitters and attempt to trade what is left over.

Fielder, Howard, Wright, Kinsler and Holliday.

I think this is a sensible approach. Keep your best five and get what you can for the others.

I would keep the hitters and try and trade Sabathia, who I imagine someone may overpay for. However, if you'd prefer some guaranteed pitching (if such a thing exists...), then I would keep CC and try and trade one of Fielder or Howard.

Thanks for your help with mine.

Thanks for all of the help guys. I hope I was helpful on yours.

It looks like I am going to keep Howard Fielder Kinsler Wright and Holliday. My best 5 hitters.

I am missing a 1st and 5th. I really want to get into the first round and the market for trading keepers is weak.

Right now, I am looking to deal Victor and my 3rd for a 1st rounder (4th overall pick). Then I am going to try to move Sabathia, Roberts and Carlos Lee for mid round picks.

The question is, is this better than keeping Victor and trading Howard or Holliday for a 1st, and a 5th??? This deal is also on the table.

Thanks again fellas! Leave some more links if help is wanted!
