Keeper Dilemma! Help me, I'll help you!

Hey Fellas,

Our keepers are due in a couple of weeks and I have some big decisions to make. I finished 2nd last year but depleted my draft in the mean time. I need to replenish it. It is a 10 team 5X5 Roto league where we can keep 5. There are only 2 people looking to acquire keepers for picks.

My options:
Fielder
Howard
Wright
Kinsler
Holliday
Victor Martinez
Carlos Lee
Brian Roberts
Sabathia
Beckett
Hamels
K-Rod
Hamels

I am thinking of keeping Fielder, Wright, Kinsler, Victor M., and Sabathia.

I think that I can get the best value out of Howard in a trade. (an owner appears to be desperate for him and already offered a 1st and an 8th. Another owner is interested in acquiring to players for two good picks. (i.e. Carlos Lee and Brian Roberts for a 4th and 5th). I would be able to move Holliday for a solid pick as well.

Am I crazy for not just keeping my best 5 hitters and selling off the rest? I want to keep Victor because I feel like he wont fetch me as much on the open market and it would be nice to have an elite catcher because the production drops off of the table after the top 3. Then, I also want to have an an Ace going into the draft.

Should I keep Fielder, Wright, Kinsler, Victor M., and Sabathia and deal off the rest or go with my top hitters: Wright, Fielder, Howard, Kinsler, Holliday and trade the rest although I will get less compensation? Or do something else? Thanks a lot guys, leave a link and I'll help you out!

Howard, V-Mart, and Roberts look like great trade bait here.

I'd keep Fielder,Wright,Howard,Kinsler,Sabathia. Try to trade Holliday for some picks. Howard is going to have a monster year I can feel it. 50 Hr 150 rbi are not easy to find, and I see Howard improving since reports are that he is in even better shape this spring than last. Unlike many I see Howard actually getting better over the next couple of years I would not let him go.

Try to trade Howard and keep Fielder at first base. I wouldn't trade Roberts and Lee because you are basically getting a 9th and 10th rounder in return. You should try to trade Holliday and V-Mart and keep Wright, Kinsler, Sabathia and either Roberts or Lee.

I'd hang on to your best players and obviously try to trade away the ones you can't keep. Even if you can get a 1st round pick for Howard, it's still really only a 6th rounder if there are going to be 50 guys off of the board before the draft even starts.

Why keep Roberts or Lee?

If he trades away Holliday, Howard and V-Mart, he would have to keep five players, meaning that Roberts or Lee would be his fifth keeper.

Why would you want to trade away studs, and then keep much lesser talent in those though? I understood gaining picks, but i would never move Howard/Holliday for picks, to get stuck with Roberts/Lee.
