DRAFT STRATEGY (Pitchers Only?)

Postby reblaze369 » Thu Feb 11, 2010 5:40 pm

Im in a few cbs h2h leagues and I usually draft hitters first until like round 6 and then draft pitchers. One guy who is in 3 of my leagues drafts starters first. In the last draft, he didnt dradt a position player until round 11. He claims to have won alot of league titles. Does anyone have any experience with this type of strategy? Does it work?

Stick to hitters, people draft them first because they're much more reliable. Look at the top pitcher lists from last year - guys like Webb, Peavy, Hamels, Johan, and Billingsley were all disappointments. The top hitters are typically safer and less susceptible to injury.

I remember hearing about a pitchers and SB strategy for head to head, where you load up on elite pitchers, closers, and Juan Pierre/Rajai Davis types (or Julio Borbon, Everth Cabrera, etc) in later rounds in order to lock down 6 of the categories while ignoring the other four. I could see it working.
