Keepers: 20 Team 6x6 HTH League

Postby joshfern » Thu Feb 11, 2010 12:21 pm

Hey all, I'm in a 20 team 6x6 HTH league (AVG, OBP, R, RBI, HR, SB // W, SV, HLD, K, ERA, WHIP). I able to hang on to 8 keepers. I have five I'm 100% sure I'm sticking with: David Wright, Justin Upton, Troy Tulowitzki, Jon Lester, and Javier Vazquez.

Here the the others I'm milling over:

Gordon Beckham
Julio Borbon
Billy Butler
Johnny Damon
Edwin Encarnacion
Carlos Gonzalez
Alexei Ramirez
AJ Burnett
Aaron Harang
Kevin Correia

I need three from the above list. Obviously there are guys there I won't consider, but I figured it would be safe to include them. The others are just middle-relievers and roster filler. I'm leaning towards only keeping Lester and Javy as my pitchers with the other six being hitters.

Thanks in advance.

Beckham, Butler, and then maybe Borbon just b/c of the potential.

Thanks guys. Just curious why you'd keep Burnett over Vazquez. The thought never even crossed my mind.

Stick with Vazquez, Burnett is god awful. You're stuck suffering with his awful starts because if you try to play matchups with him, you get burned by his great starts. When I last owned him in '08, he had like a 7 ERA when I started him and a 2.5 when I benched him. It's not worth it, he's on my never draft list permanently.

Vasquez has stunk in the AL before, NY included. 4 years, only once under a 4.50 era. AJ handles it a bit better in NY and the AL.

Thanks guys. What about Carlos Gonzalez? I think he'll get 500+ AB, the question is can he put up keeper-worthy numbers....
