A couple of good trades and mid season pick-ups left with a good roster last year. I need to pick 7 from the following:
Five definites:
Ryan Howard*
David Wright*
Evan Longoria*
Jacoby Ellsbury*
Justin Upton*
Two of these four:
BJ Upton
Gordon Beckham
Justin Verlander
Papelbon
Others worthy of thought / trade bait:
Carlos Gonzalez
John Danks
Jair Jurrjens
I’m tempted to give up on BJ Upton, ditch the saves and keep Beckham’s upside and Verlander as an SP to build around.
I think Beckham will be 2B eligible after a few games this year too.
Does that make sense or should I keep Pap’s guaranteed saves and stick with BJ Upton, is this finally his year?
Should I ditch Verlander and build a whole new staff?
Perhaps I could package one of my main five with one other and try and land a top ten bat or Lincecum.
Any thoughts welcome.
Thanks guys.
