If Reyes is going to play second base all year (which he is), I think it's stupid that he has to play 15 games before he gets eligibility there. I mean, what about rookies? Why don't rookies have to play 15 major league games before you are allowed to use them? If a team announces during the offseason that a player is changing position, that should be enough to give him eligibility at said position.

I like the way Yahoo does it. You can't just go around giving eligibility to everyone. It stays for the current season and the next season, so you should have to play 15 games to qualify. If Reyes switches to SS after 5 games, then he shouldn't have 2B eligility. For rookies it's different, because they have to be given eligibility to play somewhere. Like Phelps in 2002. That was awesome
"Jack, will you call me, if you're able?"
"I've got your phone number written, in the back of my Bible."

What did they have for Phelps? Wasn't he also at Catcher?
