Ok I am in a 10 team H2H 6x6 (Batter K's & Pitcher Losses). You can keep 4 guys. I just got in the league last yr took over the trashy 10th place team (keepers were Holliday,Phillips,Votto and Chris Davis lol). Took that team to a 3rd place finish and upgraded my keepers through season and off season trades. This is currently where I stand;
1.Utley 2.Kemp 3.CC 4??????
Votto,Markakis,Cruz,Wieters,Zobrist, Chris Carpenter.
I know I could keep Votto but the 1st base depth really makes me want to wait. Here are my options.
Keep in mind I am a phillies fan and that does take a minor role, watchin 162 of their games. I am willing to give up a draft pick to upgrade my 4th slot. From scouting through the league this is what I think I can get: My team stands to pick 8th in the draft:
Roy Halladay for roughly a 5th rd pick ( Is keeping 2 pitchers really wrong, I know everyone preaches hitting before pitching but I am not sure if I buy that as much as everyone else...pitching is 1/2 the categories and if everyone thinks that it is a good sneaky chance to build a staff. I see both sides of it thoough.
Justin Morneau and Mark Reynolds for my first round pick and let CC go.
I have offered my 5th rd pick for Tulo and my 3rd rd pick for Howard.
I have also offered CC for Rollins straight up.
I believe it is more important to upgrade a 4th keeper than losing a mid rd pick....mid rd picks are replaceable while studs may not be. These players are also cheaper to get now because their owners are not keeping them or have suitable replacements anyways.
I would have to trade for Halladay...Would Utley,Kemp,Halladay,CC and loss of a 5th rd pick be better than Kemp,Utley,CC,Votto.
I have mixed feelings on Votto. Part of me feels the same way...then part of me feels I could a similar 1bagger in the first/second round and upgrade somewhere else.

I realize you have to trade for Halladay. What I meant was to do the trade and then not worry about keeping C.C. Or trade C.C. for Doc. Doc is by far the better SP If the guy willing to take a 5th round pick for him he'd prolly take C.C. Also, Votto is a top 6-8 (depending on who you talk to 1B) you don't let those go back in to the draft in a keeper league.
The guy would not be keeping Halladay as he does not believe in keeping pitchers. This is the reason for getting these good deal on players, people would rather take a draft pick for the guys since they are just gona lose him anyways. That is why I am struggling with this. I could upgrade Votto and lose a pick or just roll with him. One team has Longoria,Braun,Howard,Tulo,Morneau,Reynolds. He is very willing to hear offers for a pick...so that is where those names are coming from. The rollins CC trade is to a yankee fan from a phillies fan lol. Hopefully he hates J Roll b/c of last yr. Thanks for the insight.
