They lost $70 million last season. They owe more than $400 million to a group of banks; $40 million to Bank of America; and $25 million to Major League Baseball that is past due. They also face the prospect of another year of falling attendance at Citi Field and have already reduced ticket prices. They are trying to raise $200 million to pay some debt and finance its operations.

thanks for putting a smile on my face h0rt …
All I can pray for is that they're forced to sell and that whoever doesn't buy the Dodgers buys them...
The Wilpons must love Rick Santorum because they are both frauds. Just come out with the truth already, let the Mets return to a top 5 big market team, continue progressing the farm system and start being a competitive team again.

that's laughable. The Sludge Merchant was far from a "Great GM". I recognize that his financial hands were constrained during his 15 year stay, but one needn't look father than his 15 years of producing zero minor league talent. Sure, prospects are hit or miss, mostly miss, but to routinely miss … for 15 year's?
Other than Jake Peavy, name me some talent …
If Towers hadn't gotten lucky pulling Adrian and Chris Young out of Texas for a busted reliever, he'd of been replaced sooner … he should of been replaced even sooner than that, but since he is a social butterfly, and is liked by all, people looked past his failings. And there were many.
