Postby zebra31 » Sat Jan 30, 2010 9:12 am

10 team, mixed, roto, keeper league. Keep 10 - no restrictions, time limits, etc.

Beltran vs Berkman for my last slot.

Who should I keep not only for this year, but the next 2-3 years.

My Keeper List so far:

C
1B Prince Fielder
2B Brian Roberts
SS Jose Reyes
3B Alex Rodriguez
OF Grady Sizemore
OF Adam Lind
OF
Util

SP Roy Halladay
SP Jon Lester
RP Jonathan Papelbon

Help me out: Beltran vs Berkman.

Thanks for the help !!!

I'd keep Berkman over Beltran. First off, Berkman is healthy coming into Spring Training. Second, outside of a bad month and his DL stint, he still posted strong numbers, which seems it indicate that he could still have power and average left in him.

Menawhile, Beltran just had surgury, will not be ready for Spring Training and doesn't even have a timetable for his return. His value lies with speed and who knows if that will evaporate away when he comes back.

Berkman is safer.

Definitely Berkman here with Beltran's injury. Berkman probably has only 2 more seasons of great production but it's not like Beltran is a young stud himself here.

That's a tough one. I'm a bit concerned about Beltran and his surgery as well as his relationship with the Mets going forward. Not sure this injury thing doesn't turn into something bigger. Berkman has good production even though he plays for the Astros. I think he's the type of player that will give you his all no matter what. Not sure you'll get that from Beltran. I'd stick with Berkman.

Easy Berkman, with Beltran being hurt I do not trust him. I like Berkman better even fully healthy.
