Part of me feels unsatisfied that the whole saga of Jack didn't really resolve itself on television. In that sense I almost wish he died, because at least we would have gotten closure. But part of me is happy that this ending sets up a film wonderfully, so at least we haven't seen the last of 24. Hopefully they do the story and characters justice on the big screen.

I agree with this. I'm just scared that they may not be able to do the characters and story justice on the big screen. I can't recall a situation where this worked out very well (taking a TV series and concluding it in a movie). It is very difficult for TV writers who are used to writing 18 hours worth of footage to develop a story (a full season), to squeeze a good story into 2 hours. I hope they can pull it off, I know I will see the movie, but I just wish we got closure on television as well.

I agree with that it was okay. It felt like another season finale. Some previous seasons have had endings that I think would have been better suited as series finales than this one. Tonight was more about President Taylor's redemption, although I suppose Jack deciding to spare Suvarov was a big development for him.

Yep I just really hope that the movie does the show justice, but I am doubtful... :-o

Really surprised Jack didn't die and knowing Jack from the first 4 seasons he's just going to find another way to get back in the game. I should have watched this whole season though because really the only thing that mattered for me was the last 5 minutes. Maybe they thought killing off two Jacks in two nights would have sent the world into mass chaos.

Just finished the finale tonight. My wife was balling like a baby.
We were both positive that Jack had been kidnapped by Tony Almeida and it would be deja vu all over again but instead it got sappy and that was fine with me.
