Part of me feels unsatisfied that the whole saga of Jack didn't really resolve itself on television. In that sense I almost wish he died, because at least we would have gotten closure. But part of me is happy that this ending sets up a film wonderfully, so at least we haven't seen the last of 24. Hopefully they do the story and characters justice on the big screen.
I agree with this. I'm just scared that they may not be able to do the characters and story justice on the big screen. I can't recall a situation where this worked out very well (taking a TV series and concluding it in a movie). It is very difficult for TV writers who are used to writing 18 hours worth of footage to develop a story (a full season), to squeeze a good story into 2 hours. I hope they can pull it off, I know I will see the movie, but I just wish we got closure on television as well.
