HOF Dynasty league (1 team left)

We need one more owner.

There are some good tradeable veteran hitters: Lee, Ibanez, Abreu, Drew, Victorino. You could trade them for prospects or young up and coming talent.

There are some decent pitchers Buerle, Wainwright, Piniero and some good young guys like: Davis, Jackson, Morales.

Some pretty good prospects: Marson, Carter, Ceda, Todd

Here is the current roster:

hitters:
Varitek, Derek Lee, Willie Aybar, Rolen, Yunel Escobar, Bloomquist, Cantu, Ibanez, Byrd, Abreu, Melky, JD Drew, Victorino, Hairston, Daric Barton

pitchers:
Buerle, Kiko Calero, Wade Davis, Edwin Jackson, Kuroda, Lyon, Frankin Morales, Sherrill, Troncoso, Wainwright, Washburn, Mota, Matt Palmer, Piniero

minors:
Lou Marson, Chris Carter, Mathew Mangini, Christian Colon, Jason Donald, Kulbacki, Pride
Eric Arnett, Jose Ceda, Mike Leake, Jess Todd, Brett Walach

The reason there are a bunch of middle relievers is because we count holds.

You could probably hit the waiver wire and upgrade some dead weight prospects right away. As the season progresses, prospects will rise and fall and come out of nowhere. If you pay attention, you could have your minor league squad totally turned around by the end of the season.

I WILL PAY YOUR ENTRY FEE FOR THE FIRST YEAR !

Please PM me if you want to take over this team. Even if it's just for one year ...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This will be the HOF Dynasty league's 4 year. It is a a pretty competitive dynasty league. There are a lo of trades made as owners in rebuilding mode sell off established players for young up and coming players and prospects. Last year we had our very first 3 way trade!

Going into the 4th year we keep 28 players on our MLB roster and 15 players on our minor league roster. At this point in the league, there is no draft until June when we do the minor league draft right after the real MLB draft happens. You can select 5 additional minor league players at that time and keep a roster of 20 minor leaguers until the season is over at which time you need to drop 5 minor league players to get back down to 15. As your minor leaguers are called up in the real MLB, you can call them up to help out your team. It is a lot of fun to follow your minor leaguers as they make their way through A/AA/AAA and finally to the big show !

At this time we have 5 openings. There are 16 owners all together each year. Not sure why the rash of departures this year but some owners were affected by the recession and have started new jobs in other cities and just don't have time to keep up with their team. We have a solid constitution that has held up well over the years. There are 2 co-commissioners.

The fee is just the cost of running the league on CBS which is about $10 to $15 a year per person. We used to use yahoo but CBS works much better for dynasty leagues with minor league rosters. Also, when you pick your team, you can rename it to any existing or former MLB team. You also get to pick a Hall of Fame player or manager as your nickname who you will go by in the league. For instance I am Connie Mack and I run the Philadelphia Athletics.

Here is a list of the rosters of the available teams. Please PM (private message) me for more details on the league or if you want to sign up.

Number of Major league players to keep (minor league rosters explained below): 15 the first year (2007), 20 the next (2008), full dynasty (keep all 28 active players) at the end of the 3rd season (2009).

Scoring Categories: 6x6 Roto - R, RBI, HR, SB, AVG, OPS, W, K, SV, WHIP, Holds

IP limit: 1550 innings
Games played limit: 162

Waivers: Three-day rolling priorities, starting in reverse of initial draft order.

Trading: Any player or any draft pick can be traded at any time for any other player or any other draft pick so long as there is no collusion.

Minor Leagues: Approximately 1 week after the major league draft, a draft of all minor league players will take place on the league message board. The order of the pre-season minor league draft will be the reverse order of the active player draft. Each team will designate 5 players for their minor league roster. There will be an additional draft that will begin on June 16, 2007, approximately 1 week after the MLB 1st year player draft, which will be held on June 7-8, 2007. This draft will take place in the reverse order of league standings as of June 1, 2007. This draft will add an additional 5 players to each team’s minor league roster (10 total).

In June 2008, the minor league draft will take place, again approximately 1 week after the MLB 1st year player draft, in reverse order of the 2007 final league standings. Teams will select 5 players, and the minor league rosters will be expanded to a total of 15 players.

In all subsequent seasons, the minor league draft will take place in June, approximately 1 week after the MLB 1st year player draft, in reverse order of the previous season's final league standings. After 2008, these drafts will allow teams to draft an additional 5 minor league players, and the minor league protected lists will be expanded temporarily to 20 total players. Teams will then have to post a final 15 player protected list by September 21 of each year, with all other players being placed on immediate 7 day waivers.

Therefore, by October 1 2007, each team will have 10 players that they wish to keep on their minor league roster. Following the 2008 season, each owner will have 15 players that make up their minor league protected roster.

Minor League Eligibility: Players must be in the minor league system in order to be eligable.

Minor league eligible players cannot be added or dropped while the expansion draft is taking place.

If a team moves a player that is not minor league eligible from their active/reserve/DL roster spots to their minor league roster, it will considered an attempt to circumvent the rules and that player will be immediately released to waivers.

The 7 day grace period is set up to allow for players who have lost eligibility while on a minor league roster to be transferred.

Miscellaneous: This league is designed to have fun, while at the same time promoting the highest level of competition. The reason for the reduced keeper numbers initially are to allow those with less experience in a dynasty setting to recover from early mistakes. It also provides some flexibility for teams in the future that take over the inevitable “dead” teams.

Please make sure you keep your contact information updated. If I am unable to contact you for 2 weeks via the email or IM that you provide, I will be forced to seek a replacement team manager.

If your team remains unchecked for three consecutive weeks (21 days), and you have no reasonable explanation (vacation, family emergency, etc), you will lose your team at the end of that season and be replaced.

Yanks, Mets and Cubs are taken.

What dynasty player wouldn't want the chance to take over and rebuild a team. The Braves and Indians still need owners. You can trade away the established players for up and coming players and prospects. You'll also have the opportunity to dump spare parts for better players once we activate the waiver wire. You can dump prospects for better prospects in the waiver process as well. Waivers will be started once we get all 16 owners. If you keep an eye on minor league web sites and message boards (including this board) you can turn around one of these teams in no time.

So come and join us.
