Think I might get Carcassonne on the iPad since it's $9.99 either way, but I'll take your guys' word for it on Catan - I need a good game like that to take around with me on my phone
the AI makes some stupid plays (building roads that are dead ends etc) but saying the computer cheats is what people who are too stupid to beat the computer say.

and am playing the heck out of it My hitter made the Hall of Fame, and my pitcher can't strike anyone out so the coach hates him, so I signed my hitter to a team (Dragons) and am playing the season now.
I found hitting to be a little challenging in the first couple of seasons, but pitching is too easy. Finished with a k/9 over 19 and won the Cy Young award in the first season. So decided to go back to hitting. Fun game, but needs to be more challenging.
