Scott Brown's acceptance speech on Fox News

Postby Carey Saders » Wed Jan 20, 2010 12:47 am

But not on CNN or MSNBC. That's a huge part of this story to choose not to cover. No matter one's political party, I would think the American viewer is interested in hearing Brown's remarks.

So is Fox really "fair and balanced" after all?

Are you asking if Fox is "fair and balanced" or if CNN and MSNBC are NOT "fair and balanced?"

Isn't that the real question? (and no, because others aren't "fair and balanced" doesn't mean Fox is)

It would be great if the news wasn't a product. But it is. More's the pity.

This is true. Every news channel chooses an angle to put on a news story. MSNBC and CNN to the left and FOX to the right. People on the left or right think a network is in the center because it either presents their own views and they think of themselves as moderate (when they aren't) or it presents a view slightly more to the center than either own and they are far to the left or right.

I think it's fair to say that no network is balanced and Keith Olbermann is a world class douche.

Fox covered the speech because they are glad he won.
NBC didn't because they are bitter.

Commodity or not, that's just pathetic. It's a pretty significant news event.

I'd say that's about right. During the speech, Fox was airing it, MSNBC was not, and CNN was at least covering Brown's victory (but was not airing the speech). I'd say sour grapes is about right.

I don't know much about Scott Brown (I would like to hear him articulate his stance on abortion) but I am just very glad that his opponent did not win. That guy seemed like a real tool who took negative advertising to new heights.

What did Olberman say about Brown? I missed this.
