I just hope you haven't spent too many of your 24k posts evaluating minor league talent.

I didn't mean to come off as an ass, and apologies if i did. I certainly don't profess to be any minor league expert.

Last year they were picking guys like David Huff and Chris Dickerson while I got Montero & Alvarez. I guess I lost out because my guys haven't made the majors yet. Their guys provided negative value.

Sucks for them ...
I don't know about this negative value ... my track record is pretty good..
Here are all my picks from the last two seasons. I think I got excellent value from Zimmerman, before he went down. The rest are promising.

You're right, I don't know you're league setup. I can't imagine what it is that makes potential closers worth spending a high minor league pick on and quality catchers easily obtainable.

Closers go for 20-30 bucks. You can find scrubs selling for 10-15. Catchers sell for 2-3 bucks. The top two C get locked up for 18.00, and everybody else makes no more than 7.00. On average, once the top two are gone ( and they are gone ), catchers are going to cost you 2-3 bucks.

Signing a minor league catcher under our rules will cost you 3 or 4 bucks if, and that's a big if, they work out.

I realized some people think Stewart can be a SP. I'm not one of them. Even if he makes it, he has 2 pitches. One of which is a 90 MPH fastball. No thanks. I'm glad you're happy with your draft.

His Changeup is a work in progress, or so i have read. You don't like him thats fine. He was highly ranked by BA and Sickels, and that was before they moved him to the rotation.

I'm happy with the way the draft turned out for my Dodgers.

I had stocked up on pitching in previous drafts, so was aiming to take two hitters with my first two picks if my top targets were still available.

I went back and forth on whether to take Trout or Desme in the first round, and once Desme went in round two I opted for Stassi, which is a possible reach, but he was the hitter I liked the most out of the guys still available.

If Drew Storen had still been available in round two, I would have given serious thought to taking him over Stassi.

I was really pleased to take Miller in round three, and as I have Kershaw and McDonald on my roster and Ethan Martin and Chris Withrow in the minors, I could end up with a complete Dodger rotation at some point in the future.

Salcedo in round four isn't as sexy a name as some of the other pitching prospects, but his control really stood out when looking at his stats and hopefully he will have a good chance of cracking the Twins' rotation at some point soon.

It was hard to know what to believe about Brothers, as he was hyped up a lot before the first-year player draft, and I'm not sure if he will be a starter or reliever, but hopefully he'll turn out to be good value for a fifth-rounder.

At least my Padres prospects have a chance at one day winning a championship on a Hot Stove roster...Kulbacki had an off year...Sampson is a high upside pick. In the meantime you have Kottaras!, Dykstra, Carrillo, and Antonelli taking up excel memory.

If you want to compare farm team to farm team, the comparison stops at Jesus Montero, a catcher, whose value exceeds that of your entire farm system. And I haven't even gotten to Dominguez, Chisenhall, EYJr, Kimbrel, Duffy, Alderson, Romine, etc. etc.

And imagine if Villalona didn't kill someone!
