US TV network NBC and Tonight Show host Conan O'Brien have reached a settlement in principle to part ways after clashing over the network's plan to reshuffle its late-night line-up, TMZ reported today.....
....Sources told The Wall Street Journal the deal will include an agreement to pay O'Brien for the remaining two-and-a-half years of his contract.
Estimates of the financial settlement for O'Brien and his team ranged from between US$25 million and $35 million. One source told the newspaper the total package could be closer to $40 million.
The deal is expected to allow O'Brien to sign a new deal with another network in substantially less than a year, potentially allowing him to host a new show as early as fall in the US.
NBC = FAIL

Sounds pretty good to me for Conan. He gets 25-35M and can probably break ground on a new late night show on Fox in the fall. Maybe it's just because Conan is younger, but I think he's a lot more entertaining than Leno or Letterman, other than his top 10 lists.

I don't know what people see in Letterman, he just seems like a bitter old man to me. Maybe he's a hit with "middle America" (no-taste douches)
Conan on cable?

I'm glad he's leaving, you can tell in the past week that he's getting back to 90's early 00's Conan and that should transfer over to wherever he goes next where he's given free reign over the show. I don't want to say he went downhill because he was always good, but once he knew that he could get the Tonight Show it seemed like it became a watered down version of the show. Except for the strike shows which were awesome.
