I am just sick reading about this. A 7.0 magnitude earthquake strikes and perhaps 100,000+ people are dead. So many homeless. So many more injured and needing treatment.

The UN says 100 of their staff are missing.

Doctors Without Borders is missing staff. All three of their facilities are currently inoperable.

According to reports, "most" of Port-Au-Prince is destroyed.

EDIT - ;-)

Color me surprised. From what I understand, it's not that uncommon to experience earthquakes in the Caribbean, but they're minor tremors.

Living in earthquake territory, I can feel their pain. That's probably my biggest fear, to be honest.

There's a number set up by the Red Cross which you can make a donation to via text.

Leave it to another "Christian" to kick dirt in the face of tragedy. Can people like Pat die off already and go straight to hell? What an awful human being.

Robertson must be missing this part of his Bible:

Jesus wrote:Matthew 7: 3-5 3“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

This is like giving the other team bulletin board material. Robertson has no reason to throw Haiti or Haitians under the bus, ESPECIALLY NOT NOW.

Stick a mic in front of a fool and you'll get a good quote.

Holy crap! I never realized how much Pat Robertson looks like Alfred E. Newman from Mad Magazine. 8-o

Anyway what an awful event. Honestly this is the very first I've heard of it, time to plug in and see what's going on. :-/

Oh and Pat Robertson sucks. :-t

Ironically Alfred E Neuman was mentioned in this thread and I was in an earthquake last month (Taiwan).

100,000 is a difficult number to even comprehend. Such a poor country with so many problems and now this. Absolutely terrible.
