Well at least they didn't overpay and sign Adam LaRoche to a multi year deal I suppose :-P

Huff may have some value in posting decent counting stats this year since he'll most likely hit in the heart of the order, but forget about any HR's since AT&T depresses left-handed HR's in a big way (by 19% from a neutral park in 2009 %-6

). Maybe he'll be a doubles machine again... man I wish they signed Russell Branyan instead :-/

He no longer has the DH spot to get some AB's when someone else plays the field. It looks like it might be tough for him to get over 500 AB's...while the other options aren't great there are other options on that team that will likely take some AB away. Also that lineup isn't what Detroit had so his RBI/R will suffer. He's not someone I'll be looking for come draft day.

I would rather have signed someone other than Huff. but I don't really like this logic. If Ishikawa struggles then there isn't a backup plan. If Huff struggles then there is Ishikawa. If Huff hits his projections of .765 OPS (CHONE) or .779 (James) then it's an alright move. It is better than signing LaRoche though.
