Scott Podsednik is scheduled to take his physical for the Royals on Friday. Podsednik agreed to terms on a contract with Kansas City on Friday morning and is expected to start in center field for the club in 2010. The financial terms of the deal have not yet been leaked though it'd be surprising if the contract tops $2 million. Podsednik, 33, batted .304/.353/.412 with seven homers and 30 stolen bases in 2009 but he's a .277/.340/.381 career hitter.

It shouldn't be too bad of a deal for the Royals if they kept it at a 1 year contract. Pods isn't really an upgrade over Maier or Anderson, but the team desperately needed another option at CF that didn't involve moving DeJesus back there. There isn't much faith that Guillen will be able to play RF more than a handful of games.
This is a good move, he can save a lot of runs defensively
