I don't mind either a QWERTY keyboard or touchscreen (or some instances, both) on my mobile phone, but it also depends on how it fits with respect to the device. I have a Motorola Droid and I think it can do without the QWERTY keyboard, with the keys being small-ish or too cramped to serve its purpose. I use the touchscreen more than I do the keyboard. I'd really like a
Google Nexus One, for that reason.
...and yes, sometimes it's more convenient to text than call someone up.
Oh, and you should see the cell phones here at CES. A lot of multimedia-intensive phones that can play 720p video, I believe, and they can also interact with your TV. Nothing too revolutionary though and everyone's making a big fuss about 3D HDTV and 3D Blu-Ray.
