The owners aren't the problem. There is no way the Player's Assoication agrees to extra games with no pay.

Only way I can see this happening is if say the top two Japanese teams take part in our playoffs rather then our winner playing their winner.

I'm not really seeing the interest for a team that has just finished a long postseason to travel overseas (games wouldn't always be held in the US) to make the season 2 weeks longer.

Plus what does this accomplish that the WBC doesn't? And the WBC has had a difficult time gaining relevance.

not gonna happen.

if it happens, US team will play bunch of scrubs and not play their big stars.
