Possible Issues -- Dynasty league

Postby APAP » Thu Jan 07, 2010 2:11 am

Im coming off a second place finish and a pretty hard-hit injury season. I see my top priority before the season as getting a new 3bman, I dont know how comfortable I feel with Casey Blake starting there for me. I also am worried about a decline in Mark DeRosa's stats in AT&T and am worried that I might have to worry about a Weeks comeback/Barmes repeat season to have a solid 2b situation. I plan to rotate DeRosa, Weeks, and Barmes throughout my MI slot. My question is, should I go after a new 3b or 2b? I feel that I have extra pieces to move in Soriano/Lind, Barmes, Escobar, Span and Soria. What do you think?

You also have a ridiculously deep pitching staff too

I'd try and deal Soriano and Span first... I hold out the least hope for them but it's worth a try. Lind is young and is on the upswing... avoid dealing him unless you can make a significant upgrade.

I'd also be worried about Reyes... constant leg injuries and his only value comes from steals.

I'm honestly not TOO worried about Reyes. I've been trying to deal Soriano with pretty much no takers, should I try to deal him off for a prospect?

That's quite the lineup. Anything wrong with standing pat for now?

your pitching is outstanding and it is clearly your strongest asset. while it is true that your most glaring holes are at 2b and 3b, i wouldnt deal some of those names like lind and soria to fill them. if you can only choose a 2b or a 3b i would go after a 2b. beltre's value obviously goes up in boston and he should be able to hold down the fort until alvarez is ready. i would look to go trade one of those top pitching studs for a 2b. if i had to pick, i'd deal wainwright simply because i dont think he will repeat. he'll still be good, but i think his ERA will be over 3.00. see what type of 2b you can get, but you should be able to get a top guy like maybe kinsler, cano, or phillips for him with a guy like soriano or berkman. also you can see if you can go get gordon beckham or ben zobrist at a reasonable price and spend a top SP on a 3b, altho im sure the owners of those 2 guys will want a good amount. but otherwise your team looks more than adequate to make another run at the championship for sure, even if you are unable to upgrade 2b/3b right away.

help with mine?
