The writers don't pick, the Hall picks.

I'd still bet on Arizona over Seattle.

I would too. His most dominant years were definitely with the DBacks.

This is gross... just gross.

My mom’s all-time favorite player is Randy Johnson.

Not because he was one of the best pitchers ever, but because he visited her cousin’s child in the hospital as the kid lay dying of cancer.

Mom’s cousin said he spent the hour chatting with them and was as nice as could be.

I bet Pearlman feels silly now. :-°

Not that I know whether or not RJ is a nice guy but the blogger doesn't even say what he did that makes him such a "pathetic human being". If the guy is trying to rally people to dislike the people he dislikes, examples would go a long way. I clicked on it hoping for some crazy story and it basically just says "trust me he's a jerk". :-S

Great pitcher though. Sad to see him retire but it's better than hanging on and producing poorly I think.

What sickens me is that this isn't just some schmuck with a blog. Jeff Pearlman is an accomplished author and has written some very influential books. What's sad is that this is obviously a point of view shared by those who actually have HOF votes. Again.. gross. :-{
