http://bleacherreport.com/articles/3202 ... r-one-pickJust finished reading the above article that is advocating Carl Crawford as a possible number one pick. Heck, I'm not even sure he's a top 10 pick. His Average Draft Position is currently #15.
So much has happened since November with Crawford, but one thing remains clear: he is the total package and is primed for a breakout season this year no doubt.
That's about the extent of the argument for Carl Crawford. What happened since November that makes him jump into consideration for top pick? Did I miss something??

Ya thats insane if someone takes Carl #1 over pujols or Hanley they are smoking crack.
I can name probably 20 players I'd take before him.
Main reason, most of his value is wrapped up in his running ability. Look what happened in 2008, pulls a hammy, misses about 50 games. He's went from way overrated for how many years to last year (09) UNDERRATED, and now BACK TO OVERRATED again....
he's about a 15HR 50SB .300 hitter.... until he cracks 20 HR's out, no chance at #1

I'd gamble on Jose Reyes over Crawford or Ellsbury this year every day of the week because of the wafer-thin league depth at Shortstop. But not even Reyes should go 1st overall. I'd say 5th overall at best (behind Pujols, Hanley, A-Rod, Utley for sure).

If I had the #1 overall pick i would pick Pujols this year hands down (esp. with todays reported signing), but if we were theoretically looking through a list of other options, and we wanted to suggest an OF who could be a better pick, why wouldn't you be considering Kemp or Braun? Crawfords steals are nice but he is beat in just about every category by these two and I would consider either of them more likely to break out and have a tremendous year over Crawford. Crawfords 2009 = 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004. Consistent yes, but I dont know that anything points to breakout.
