I'm in a 10 team Roto keeper. You can keep 10 players. This year will be the 6th season, and I've finished in last 4 out of 5. A bad initial draft has obviously killed my team.
Two years ago, I was offered Pujols for Bedard and turned it down because of a potential injury Pujols had. ( I Know....stupid!!!)
In this league if you keep less than 10 you get early picks to catch up to those who kept 10. At this point I am keeping Crawford, Votto, Greinke, Burnett and Webb.
But my thoughts are to try and trade Greinke for a decent pitcher and a decent hitter, since his value may never be this high. For example...one team that is weak on pitching...I was thinking of proposing Greinke for Cain and G Beckham.
Trading Greinke now could be a good idea after the monster season he had. I would look for a better package than Beckham and Cain though.
Also, are you set as only having Crawford, Votto, Greinke, Burnett and Webb as keepers? I see a few other guys who would be much better keepers if there are no other circumstances.
I wouldn't have a problem with moving Greinke, but Cain/Beckham is the wrong move. I'd also imagine that out of the 100 players that will be kept, at least 80 will be on the offensive side, so I don't think you'll be able to fill out your roster with worthy players there. Keep the bulk of you offense intact, it's really not too bad, look to fill a weak 3rdbase postion 1st, then start picking arms from the beginning of the draft portion.
Yeah, I definitely feel like I could get more than Cain and Beckham...that was just one I remembered.
The keepers aren't set, and I can keep up to 5 more. I like Markakis and McCann, but want to see who is available at the draft since I will start picking in the 6th round and if everyone else keeps 10...I'll have 6 picks in a row. If Markakis and McCann are best available...I will redraft.

Yeah, that's the problem every year...very few offensive players to pick from.
Another reason why I want to keep only 5 is last year, I kept no one and traded my 6th and 7th pick for Crawford. I'd consider trading two early picks for another top guy like that again.
So if I get two players for Greinke....and 1 Stud for 2 picks...I think I'm on the right track!!!
At worst, Burnett and Webb would not be kept by me if I was only keeping 5. Markakis and McCann should be automatic keepers for you as well as Crawford, Greinke and Votto.
I would go with ayebatter' list of keepers though.

By your own admission, there are not many offensive players on the board after the keepers are named, if you feel you need to move Greinke do so, just make sure he's better than your worse hitter, probably Snider, I can't see moving Greinke for picks.
If you trade Greinke, do not do a 2 for 1 deal ( a pitcher and a hitter) deal him for a hitter worthy of a 1st/2nd round draft pick....in other words a stud for a stud.

I concur. I'd only trade Greinke for a top 15 hitter.
