Too many good keepers - help please

Postby Fixations » Sat Jan 02, 2010 11:55 pm

Need some help with my keepers and draft strategy. I won my league last year and pick last every round not. We get to keep 3 players and then during the draft we get to keep another player every time a player gets drafted from our last year's rosters (5 players). So to restate that - we get 3 keepers and get back 5 more players

Roster
C - Wieters and Doumit
1B - Pujols
2B - Cano, Beckham and Weeks
3B - Alex Rodriguez
SS - Jose Reyes and Elvis Andrus
OF - Justin Upton, Hunter Pence, Adam Jones, Bobby Abreu and Travis Snider
P - Lincecum, Sabathia, Beckett, Burnett, DiceK, Ervin Santana, Webb, Wolf, Buerhle

Obviously Pujols is the no brainer, but what direction would you go from there?

Who are the 3 keepers you suggest?
What players would you most like to get back after the 3 protected players?

Thanks for you help and I will gladly give you my advice in the futures.

Keep Pujols, ARod, Lincecum

Next for me would be Reyes, Sabathia, Upton, Cano, Beckett, Wieters

Pujols
Lincecum
Reyes
Upton
A-Rod

I'm not thrilled with Sabathia. Beckett is just as good, and you'll be able to get other similar values through the draft. These five give you a very solid foundation.

1B - Pujols
OF - Justin Upton,
2B - Cano

Once one of Arod or Lincecum get drafted, I would keep the other one. My next keeper choice would come down to Reyes and Pence.
