First: I need to narrow my list of 12 keepers down to 8 Second: I'd like to try and move the players I don't keep for either draft picks, or packaged 2-3 for an upgrade. I realize that I desperately need a 1B/CI
So my question is, who do I keep, and who should I try to move around?
12 team keeper league - H2H - 5x5 - Keep 8
C - 1B - 2B - Cano SS - Beckham 3B - Wright CI - MI - LF - Braun CF - Kemp RF - Markakis UTIL - Rios
SP - Vazquez SP - Kazmir SP - Jimenez SP - W. Rodriguez SP - RP - Soria RP - RP - RP - RP -
Vazquez & Markakis might be a couple of guys you could deal to get a top-tier 1B. Maybe those two for Big Tex of Fielder?
I think Vazquez is a workhorse, high-K guy but he's getting older and going back to an AL park. I know he's gonna have his share of wins with the Yanks, but I'm betting on an increased ERA & WHIP. Right now his value is very high because of the big move to the Yankees, so someone might bite on that deal.
I should've added, as part of that deal, you should maybe start by asking for a lower-end pitcher with good upside as part of any trade of this nature.

pair any 1 of these 3 with your leftovers for an upgrade, and keep the 2 remaining Beckham Rios Vazquez
trade any other leftovers for a draft pick if possible
Does anyone think Rios is poised for a bit of a bounce-back? He seemed a bit unlucky and never got it going in Chicago. I'm reluctant to move him because he should have benefited from the move to US Cellular from the Rogers Center. I do suppose that OF is where I have some depth to deal from.
I'd have to agree that Rios looks to be a bit better in Chicago, which is the reason why he should be one of your 8, if you can't make a deal for an upgrade.
I'd keep Braun, Wright, Kemp, Jimenez, Cano, Beckham, with the rest of the guys being expendable for however you can upgrade. I'm very high on Wright as a bounceback and Jimenez as an ace.
I would try and deal Vazquez plus some of your other non keepers or with someone like Markakis. A lot of owners may be thinking big things for Vazquez with the Yanks, but I see him faltering.
I would have advocated Vazquez for the last 8th keeper spot before he was dealt to Boston, but I think I'll take a slight gamble on Rios getting more PT this season.
