I am in a std Yahoo 10 team league in whch you can keep up to 2 players. My current roster has the following potential keepers: Ryan Howard Ian Kinsler Grady Sizemore Mark Reynolds Johan Santana
I finished 9th of 10 (suck), so I will have the 1st and 6th picks. Here's the pool of talent I should have available, including the players on my roster I could potentially keep:
J. Ellsbury J. Reyes T. Lincecum M. Holliday Joe Mauer T. Tulowitzki Ryan Howard Ian Kinsler Grady Sizemore Mark Reynolds D. Wright J. Ellsbury
So, my question is, "Who's your top 3-4 players on the list to start a team? All of my current batters stink in the AVG category and 2 of them pose considerable health risks (Kinsler and Sizemore). I want to get some feedback as I start my research this year, and appreciate your consideration!
WHIR!!

In shallow leagues such as yours, position scarcity plays a big role. With these keepers you have all 3 of the scarcest positions. In your league I'd probably draft Mauer in the first round, so make sure you get him! He's far and above the best player at his position.
Howard Kinsler Mauer Lincecum if he falls, it's always nice to have an ace, but you can't really go wrong with all of the people you mentioned. Just about taking, in your opinion, the best player available, especially in the first round. But if Lincecum can't be had, I'd take Tulo as the others said due to position scarcity.
I agree with most, Howard and Kinsler are your keepers. Then I'd take Mauer, a catcher that does what he does has huge value, even though I'm not a big scarce position guy. He just does so much, no matter what position he plays.
